Plagiarism Policy

Nabawi: Journal of Islamic Education Research (NJPPI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. Plagiarism is a serious violation of scholarly ethics, and NJPPI is dedicated to preventing and addressing any instances of plagiarism in submitted manuscripts.

Definition of Plagiarism. Plagiarism involves the use of someone else's ideas, words, or intellectual property without proper acknowledgment, presenting them as one's own. This includes, but is not limited to, copying and pasting from sources without citation, paraphrasing without appropriate attribution, and submitting someone else's work as one's own.

Responsibilities of Authors. Authors submitting manuscripts to NJPPI must ensure the originality of their work. All sources, including text, data, figures, or ideas, used in the manuscript must be appropriately cited. Authors are responsible for providing accurate references and attributions for all content that is not their own. Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse their own previously published work without proper citation, is also considered a violation of academic integrity.

Plagiarism Detection. NJPPI employs plagiarism detection tools to screen submitted manuscripts for potential instances of plagiarism. Authors are advised to thoroughly review their work, ensuring that all sources are appropriately cited to avoid unintentional plagiarism.

Consequences of Plagiarism. If plagiarism is identified in a submitted manuscript, the following actions may be taken:

  1. The manuscript may be rejected outright.
  2. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be issued.
  3. The author(s) involved may be barred from submitting future manuscripts to NJPPI.
  4. Notification may be sent to the author's affiliated institution and other relevant authorities.

Appeals and Resolutions. Authors have the right to appeal if they believe their work has been wrongly identified as plagiarism. Appeals should be submitted in writing, providing a detailed explanation and evidence supporting their claim. The editorial board will thoroughly review appeals and take appropriate action.

Educational Measures. NJPPI is committed to promoting awareness and education about plagiarism. Relevant information and resources on proper citation practices will be shared with authors, reviewers, and the broader academic community.

Maintaining academic integrity is crucial for the credibility of scholarly publications. NJPPI's plagiarism policy aims to uphold these standards, fostering a scholarly environment built on honesty, transparency, and the responsible use of intellectual property. Authors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this policy to ensure the ethical conduct of their research and publication practices.
