Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Instructions and Recommendations for Submitting Manuscripts

Take note of the instructions provided below before commencing your writing. Manuscripts failing to adhere to these guidelines will be sent back to the author for revisions, potentially leading to significant delays in the publication process of your work.

 

Word Count Requirements: Please ensure that your manuscript complies with the specified word count: 3,000-6,000 words (Applicable to Journal Articles)

 All manuscripts must:

  • Be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
  • Be written either in Bahasa Indonesia or English (Indonesian authors are required to use the Bahasa Indonesia language during submission).
  • Be composed with an objective third-person perspective (employing terms such as "writer" or "researcher" rather than "me" or "us").

 

  1. Manuscript Originality. Only original manuscripts will be considered for publication. The manuscript should not have been published previously or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  1. Revised Manuscripts. Nabawi: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam will not publish revised versions of texts that have been published elsewhere. For authenticity, a manuscript must consist of at least 80% new material, with no more than 200 consecutive words (properly quoted) repeated verbatim from any previously published work.
  1. Copyright. During the publication process of Nabawi: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Islam, it is important to note that the PDF copyright agreement is no longer accepted. As part of the submission process, authors will be required to digitally sign the Author Guarantee and Transfer of Copyright Agreement.
  1. Plagiarism Concerns. Nabawi: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Islam prioritizes addressing the issue of plagiarism. Every aspect of the manuscript will undergo a thorough plagiarism check before being accepted for publication. Authors are urged to ensure accurate citation of information from external sources and express all ideas in their own words. Instances of plagiarism will be promptly returned to the author for rectification and may lead to the exclusion of the manuscript from publication.
  1. Title Guidelines:
  • The title should be concise, specific, and impactful, with a maximum length of 15 words.
  • All titles must follow title case formatting, where the first letter of each significant word is capitalized, excluding prepositions, conjunctions, and articles.
  • Exception: The first word of the title or subtitle is always capitalized, irrespective of whether it is an article, preposition, or conjunction.
  • Avoid using all capital letters in titles (e.g., "CHAPTER TITLE" is incorrect; "Title of Chapter" is correct).
  1. Headings. Kindly adhere to the formatting template provided below for all titles in your manuscript. You have the flexibility to customize the headings within your text based on the content of your manuscript. It's important to note that headings and subheadings should not be assigned numerical values (e.g., 1. Introduction, 2. Background, etc.).
  2. Images. A manuscript is limited to a maximum of 20 images. Any image or table not meeting the specified criteria will be sent back to the author for correction. All images must be submitted as individual files in the .tif format. Additionally, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use any images that are currently protected by third-party copyright. Please refer to the image guide for further details.
  1. Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full Note). It is essential to ensure that all information presented in your manuscript is appropriately referenced from other sources, with citations provided in the text. Each submission is required to have a minimum of 20 sources. Additionally, please adhere to the citation format of the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (full note). Failure to format references correctly may result in the manuscript being returned for correction by the publisher. For more details and examples of the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (full note), please refer to Nabawi: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Islam's template available here.
  1. Self-Citation. Researchers may find it necessary to reference their previously published works to effectively convey ideas in their current manuscript. While Nabawi: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Islam supports the use of self-citations in such instances, it is crucial that self-cited works constitute no more than 50% of the total references in the manuscript.
  1. LaTex Incompatibility. LaTex files cannot be accepted as they are not compatible with Nabawi: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Islam. Instead, we recommend using MathType as an alternative (refer to "Equations" below).
  1. Equation Formatting. If you can input symbols or equations directly into Microsoft Word, kindly proceed to do so. Alternatively, if the use of MathType is necessary for equation formatting, authors can download the free trial version of MathType from the following link.
  1. Copy Editing and Proofreading. It is crucial to perform thorough copy editing and proofreading on your manuscript before submission to ensure accurate use of Bahasa Indonesia or English, proper grammatical structure, and correct spelling and punctuation. Manuscripts sent to publishers are treated as final and ready for publication in their submitted state.

Note: Manuscript Organization and Formatting Templates serve the purpose of standardizing the manuscript delivery and do not depict the final appearance of your work in print. The publisher retains discretion over the format and design of the ultimate publication.

** Kindly be aware that all manuscripts MUST be submitted through the online delivery system / OJS. Manuscripts submitted outside of this system will not be considered for publication.

Authors who contribute to Nabawi: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Islam agree to the following conditions:

  1. Authors retain the copyright to their work and provide the journal with the right of first publication. Simultaneously, the work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License, permitting others to share the work while acknowledging the authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors have the option to engage in separate contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work, such as posting it in an institutional repository or including it in a book, with due acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
  3. Authors are not only permitted but also encouraged to share their work online, for instance, in institutional repositories or on their websites, before and during the submission process. This practice can facilitate productive exchanges and lead to earlier and increased citation of the published work.
