Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic environment on the attitude of independent learning of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in students at the 'Aisyiyah Bontang Orphanage. Islamic environment is interpreted as a religious atmosphere that includes the habit of daily worship, moral social interaction, and structured religious activities. The learning independence studied includes aspects of motivation, discipline, responsibility, and the ability to complete tasks independently. The research approach used is qualitative with a case study type. Data collection techniques include participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of students, caregivers, and managers of the orphanage. Data were analyzed through reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using triangulation techniques to maintain validity. The results of the study indicate that the Islamic environment applied at the 'Aisyiyah Orphanage makes a significant contribution to shaping the attitude of independent learning of students. Activities such as congregational prayer, tilawah, and discipline in religious activities create positive routines that strengthen the character of students. Guidance carried out through the example of caregivers, a maintained religious atmosphere, and Islamic social culture encourage students to organize their study schedules, complete Islamic Religious Education assignments without coercion, and be responsible for their own learning process. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of the role of an Islamic environment in creating an educational space that not only supports cognitive aspects, but also affective and psychomotor aspects in a balanced manner. These findings are expected to be a reference for orphanage managers, caregivers, and Islamic education practitioners in designing effective and sustainable guidance strategies.
